(PPG) is a leading Construction Services Company providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services specializing in the installation of utility and industrial process infrastructure including substations, power generation, industrial process facilities, and renewable fuel projects in North America. PPG is a subsidiary of Quanta Services Inc., the largest specialty contractor in North America, providing large single-source solutions and leading the industry in its ability to deliver a collective scope of services, expertise and manpower. 

PPG is currently planning, negotiating and executing EPC contracts for large electrical infrastructure projects, including HVDC substations, and complex industrial projects in the western US, targeting a start date of 2Q/3Q 2025. PPG is seeking to bring on an Electrical Construction Coordinator for the project in Adelanto, CA as the initial assignment for this position.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Electrical Construction Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of electrical construction projects. In this role, you will collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor day-to-day on-site electrical subcontractors operations and field labor force including assistants, foremen, subcontractors, and other construction related personnel
  • Assist Construction Manager in the supervision and responsibility of the total construction effort in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule)
  • Assist with providing technical assistance (interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required to subcontractors.
  • Inspection of Contractor or (Sub)Contract operations to ensure compliance with Contract
  • Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Project/Construction Manager
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer
  • Develop and maintain site coordination plan, in coordination with Construction Manager
  • Conduct quality inspections
  • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
  • Monitor costs, including labor time and material
  • Communicate and enforce the Project Health and Safety Program
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
  • Monitor schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules, and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates
  • Prepare and submit Superintendent’s Daily Reports to document weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress and conditions impacting the project, as well as Accident Reports, Quality Reports, etc.
  • Participate in subcontractor meetings
  • Attend and participate in project meetings
  • Providing training and education to support field superintendents and engineers
  • Help set a positive tone for the project
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
  • Performs any other duties assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Broad knowledge of construction industry including equipment, labor, means and methods, codes, and standards
  • 8 -10 plus years of related electrical construction experience in industrial or commercial construction projects
  • Utility and Refineries Experience a Plus
  • 30 Hour OSHA Certification
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management a plus
  • Broad understanding of electrical construction and site logistics, including utility
  • Knowledge and understanding Labor Regulations
  • Strong and effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Function effectively within a team unit
  • Broad understanding of construction documents and drawings
  • Computer proficient with ability to adapt to new innovations and processes
  • Technically proficient
  • Motivates staff and trade contractors to perform at the highest level possible
Salary Expectations: $140,000 - $160,000 yearly
Expected to work 50 - 60 hours per week based upon project needs
