Essential Functions 

  • Applies knowledge of intelligence, threat analysis and forecasting tools, applications, and methodologies to identify adversarial intent, capabilities, vulnerabilities, and potential threat courses of action. 
  • Remain informed of political-military developments in theater and maintains liaison with other agencies in order to identify intelligence gaps and initiate the required data collection to conduct holistic threat assessments.
  • Analyze threat network activities, composition and TTP’s, geospatial distribution of events, indications and warnings of attacks, and information operations.
  • Conduct information retrieval, knowledge consolidation, analysis, and development of assessments of facts, threat intents, cultural behavioral norms, knowledge and implications of the operational environment, and adversarial involvement in that environment. 
  • Provide proactive insight into anticipated enemy reactions to friendly current, future operations and provides insights into second and third order effects of operational planning.
  • Develop geographically correct and reality based threat network story lines, threads and 
  • injects to facilitate MAGTF operations for inclusion into Master Scenarios Events List (MSEL) during Mission Rehearsal Exercises.
  • Participate in exercises as .
  • Performs as a HICON and expert response cell role ISO exercises. 
  • Provide support for formal learning programs and Battle Staff Training simultaneously.
  • Contributes to CONOPs, and operations process cycles across all six warfighter functions and social media.
  • Create the Annex B and all associated appendices in support of exercise Operations Orders.
  • Develop Collections Plans for all Exercises.
  • Contribute to the IPB Process.
  • Provide scenario-based intelligence briefs to the Exercise Development team and the Training Audience.

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 15 years of experience  as an intelligence analyst within a specific intelligence discipline (HUMINT, SIGINT) or supervising Multi-INT personnel analyzing IED, insurgent, asymmetric threat networks.
  • A combination of education and experience that displays the requisite skillset is considered.
  • Microsoft Office proficient; 1 year of minimum experience using ArcGIS (v9.x), Analyst’s Notebook (v6, 7, or 8) .
  • Knowledge of Joint and USMC targeting processes . 
  • Familiarity with Pathfinder, CIDNE, or other data mining applications preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for rudimentary statistical analysis and manipulation of data for shape files and .csv files.
  • Experience with conducting advanced network analysis preferred.
  • Experience with operations centers, planning cells and operational planning teams desired. 
  • Experience at the Battalion, Regiment, Division and MEF levels desired.
  • Experience with Interagency and other governmental entities preferred.
  • Career Level School (Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS)) and MAGTF Intelligence Officer’s Course, Intelligence Tactics Instructor Officer (ITIO), or service equivalents is preferred for those with an officer background. USMC Staff NCO Academy, Infantry Unit Leader Course (IULC), MAGTF Intelligence School, Intelligence Tactics Instructor Chief (ITIC), or service equivalents is preferred for those with an enlisted background.
  • U.S. Marine Corps or US Army officer/SNCO experience with one or more deployments to expeditionary or contingency operations .
  • Deployments to OIF/OEF highly preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered to meet the requisite requirements for this position.

  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team and serve as a planning team lead.
  • Possess self-motivation and a high level of discretion to work effectively under a minimum level of supervision.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.
