SUMMARY:

The HR Operations Specialist plays a key role in optimizing and executing core human resources functions with precision and consistency. This individual ensures smooth HR transactions, maintains data integrity, and supports cross-functional teams to deliver seamless employee experience throughout the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.

  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS platforms such as Paycom, BambooHR, or ADP 
  • Troubleshoot HRIS-related issues and partner with IT or vendors to resolve system concerns 
  • Assist with completion of unemployment claims / hearings 
  • Support benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding processes, and compliance activities 
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and employment regulations (e.g., FMLA, COBRA, EEO) 
  • Provide support with employee relations investigations  
  • Provide support with employment separations 
  • Help to facilitate the team member transfer process 
  • Direct candidates through the preliminary drug screen / pre-employment physical process 
  • Assist with Training, New Hire Orientation, Employee Events, and Recognition Programs as needed 
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure accuracy of employee data and timely processing of changes 
  • Generate reports and analytics on headcount, turnover, and compensation trends 
  • Maintain digital and physical personnel files in accordance with retention policies 
  • Assist with audits and support labor law compliance, such as I-9 verification and wage notices 
  • Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS) 
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries and resolve tier-one issues 
  • Contribute to internal communication initiatives, ensuring team members stay informed on HR processes 
  • Partner with recruiters to improve processes and onboard team members 
  • Proactively Manage pre-boarding communication to ensure new hires are well-informed and prepared

  • Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and assist them as required 
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training. 
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job does not require supervisory duties.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (MUST BE DOCUMENTED):

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred  
  • 2–4 years of experience in HR operations or HRIS coordination 
  • Proficient in systems like Workday, ADP, Paycom, or equivalent platforms preferred  
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills  
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices  
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: 

  • Experience supporting compensation, benefits, or merit cycle processes  
  • Excel proficiency and familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP)  
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple priorities with calm and focus 
  • Collaborative spirit with a solutions-oriented mindset 

CERTIFICATION, LICENSES AND ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must pass periodic random drug screens. 
  • Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.
  • Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.

The employee is occasionally required use repetitive movements to complete tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be occasionally required to work in low light conditions, and may be exposed to loud noise for extended periods.

  • Multiple locations.
  • Some enterprises are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; therefore, you must be flexible to work any and all hours.
  • Must be available for emergency calls 24/7.
  • Must be available to work weekend and holidays.
  • Some enterprises are gaming facilities.
  • Some enterprises are not a smoke-free environment.
  • Surveillance cameras and audio equipment monitor the premises recording activity throughout most of the facilities on 24 hours per day, 7 days per week basis.
