Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor – Landfill & Transfer is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations including equipment repairs, diagnostics, fleet supplies, parts and inventory control, warranty recovery. This position will manage the data entry of all equipment hours and fuel usage in the absence of maintenance administrator, scheduling preventative maintenance, time and attendance of maintenance staff, record keeping, providing effective communication, positive reinforcement, and effective mentoring to maintenance staff. The Maintenance Supervisor – Landfill & Transfer reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Job Description
- Day to day maintenance operations including equipment repairs, diagnostics, fleet supplies, parts & inventory control.
- Scheduling and ensuring PM’s compliance, warranty recovery and specialized parts ordering.
- Ensures all equipment/maintenance repairs are recorded and timely completed.
- Data entry of equipment hours, fuel usage in the absence of Maintenance Administrator.
- Monitors & maintains inventory control & reordering as needed.
- Maintains positive relationships with field Supervisors, vendors, and customers at all times.
- Oversees daily pre/post trip inspections on site equipment.
- Notify management / supervision of any & all observed safety hazards & or adverse conditions of existing safety equipment.
- Insure maintenance staff use applicable company issued personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings with staff according to SB County permit requirements and 52/12 Safety calendar.
- Ability to determine root cause and provide appropriate solutions and focuses on results.
- Ability to work effectively with others at all levels in a positive manner on a continuing basis.
- Maintain the professional appearance of Company equipment & safe quality of all repairs.
- Appropriately issue disciplinary action, coaches, mentors, develops staff.
- Coordinates efforts with Maintenance Manager to ensure proper utilization of resources, staff & primarily operations.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Trade School Certification.
- ASE Certifications.
- 5+ years’ experience in maintenance environment.
- 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with parts and inventory.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications & Computer based maintenance tracking systems (Dossier, EMS, CFA).
- Consistently behaves in a manner that is appropriate and professional.
- Great customer service attitude, communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people.
- Valid Class B driver's license.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Diagnostic computer skills.

Salary: $68,640 - $109,677/year
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 6:00 am - 4:00 pm with rotating Saturdays
